Founded in 1987 by current CEO Fred Story, Story Homes is a housing developer that currently has 36 schemes in Cumbria, North West and North East England and southern Scotland.
With their mission being to design and build quality homes that people aspire to live in, they pride themselves on their build quality, customer service, community engagement, and continuous investment in their workforce and supply chain.

Their commitment to customer service has seen the company achieve a five-star Home Builders Federation (HBF) Customer Satisfaction rating for five consecutive years, and ‘Gold’ and ‘Outstanding’ ratings from In-house.

Headquartered in Carlisle, they also have regional offices in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Chorley, directly employing more than 500 staff and operating successful apprentice and graduate schemes aimed at bringing future talent into the industry.
